Upgrading Education Curriculum: Necessity for International Experience

School plays a vital role in molding and structuring a child’s viewpoint and outlook in life. That’s why it is crucial that schools have a good curriculum to follow. As years gone by, changes and innovations occur and these fire up the need to upgrade education curriculum in order to meet these demands. Goals of schools should not only focused on nurturing and educating students but it should prepare them to be globally competitive to survive the challenge of this modern generation.

One consideration is to add international experience to education curriculum. It will foster innovation in international education curriculum design and an increased desire among institutions to provide a global experience to all students. It is also expected to increase public awareness about the benefits of study abroad in making the world a safer and more open-minded place.

Preparing students to work competitively is a challenge to educational institutions.  Considering the limited international exposure of most students, the challenge is alarming. Educators must bear in mind that students could have a good outlook in their career when they are expose internationally. They must take actions to make international experience a part of education curriculum.  These measures can offer advantages such as to:

1. Reinforce global awareness of the students.
2. Update the present curriculum to be globally competitive.
3. Integrate teaching practices that cover international scope.
4. Provide resources that deal with international/global extent of commerce.
5. Structure teaching staff improvement programs in international commerce.

Educators should let their students enjoy immersing with other people across the globe and share their cultures and country’s pride. Students must be encourage to do volunteering activities to widen their knowledge regarding how other people live their lives up to the fullest. They will have chance to help in improving the way of living of people in a community. They could teach handicrafts or any activities which will benefit the community people. They could even structure business trainings in collaboration with the local government to further empower the people.

There are so many options wherein students can select based on them abilities. Some of them include integrating with community people, humanitarian work, empowering women, children and sustaining health, education through English and Spanish teaching, doing crafts and agriculture and environmental protection. As they work on it, they will be able to discover their own hidden talents and those things they are not ware they can do. Students can also be empowered because they will practice leadership skills as they volunteer.

Successful curriculum comes about through the implementation of validated programs and procedures. It requires a paradigm shift that is required in the law: the student (if appropriate), special and general education teachers, parents, a district representative, and representatives of other agencies essential to best serve the student's needs are obligated to take part in the student's educational planning, with improved learning as a goal. Within this background of support from a larger educational community, teachers must work together to stand up and advocate for the addition of international experience in the education curriculum
