Ave Nicaraguita Spanish School is currently accepting applications from individuals interested in learning Spanish and/or volunteering at five different locations in Nicaragua:(Esteli, Leon, Granada, Masatepe-Masaya, San Juan del Sur).

1. Expanded Spanish

Feature Immersion Rural-Urban Program

A 2-week immersion program! Enjoy one week at the Pochote farm and a second week at the historical city of Granada. The farm is surrounded by rocky terrain, jungle, a crater lake and an active volcano. The farm guesthouse was built to handle American-European clients. Granada is located on the edge of a huge lake with numerous islands, and boasting an impressive volcano and a second week at the historical city of Granada.

Price: For two weeks minimum enrollment -working with 2 or 3 students maximum-
= $295 per week * 2 = $590 + $50 registration fee.

COST includes:
+ Standard accommodation for one week with a family or school hostel
+ 3 main meals daily
+ Necessary transportation between schools (from 1 to 3 hours ride) and trips to sites for practice (from 5 to 60 minutes ride)
+ The Spanish lessons program and practice: over 25 hours per week

* Add more weeks to this program, $295 each new week, to study in Managua, Esteli, Leon, San Juan del Sur or Juigalpa, Chontales.

**In Granada, for and additional $100 per week accommodation can be upgraded to hotel type conditions: private room, private bath, air-conditioning and outstanding views, and all the included items above.

2. Price for Spanish Lessons Only

On a daily basis for very short stay

Since the arrangement is for either half a day (4 hours) or a full day of classe
(7 days), students are encouraged to take the full length of the study period each day. The class size is kept to three students, usually there will be two students working with one instructor. But individual tutoring (one instructor one student) is also possible.

Spanish lessons at Ave Nicaraguita are effective, dynamic and fun with flexibility in timetable. Get to know the city of Granada and do not miss a class right on the Lake shore.

- A full day: $ 45
- Half a day: $ 35

Regular Program: All Seven Language Levels

At Ave Nicaraguita, there are seven levels of Spanish. Each level can be accomplished on a regular basis for 8 continue weeks (4 hours weekly, or weekends, with flexibility in timetable). To foreigners moving in or staying for extended period of time in Nicaragua, we are offering the opportunity to study seven levels of Spanish. There are three levels are for beginners, three levels are for intermediate, and one conversational level.

Price: at the incredible rate of $5.99 per hour of instruction + a one time $ 50 registration fee all levels (or valid for 2 years).

For beginners, the methodology is based on popular education for adults, focusing on the amount of functional language that can be quickly learned during immersion programs via intense interactive sessions. Additionally, for intermediate level students there is focus on development basic writing skills, including grammar, and on increasing vocabulary. This leads to fast development of conversational and reading skills. Teaching materials are both locally produced and from international Spanish textbook and certified methodological guides.

3. Price: "Immersion Recorrido":
tour Nicaragua and learn Spanish-

Recorrido requires a 4 weeks minimum enrollment. Each week you will study at a new destination in Nicaragua a program consisting of at least 25 hours per week of a combination of theoretical and practical lessons.
Recorridos are set up to be developed like these:
Granada - Masatepe - San Juan del Sur - Managua. Or
Granada - Masatepe - Juigalpa, Chontales - Managua.
First orientation session is held in Granada.

Price: 4 weeks = $345 per week * 4 = $1380
Note: For reservation to this program, you will be asked a 20% up front payment.

4. Prices for Volunteers: (2 weeks minimum enrollment)

Program fee depends on the choice of accommodations

Option 1 - $ 490 per week if staying at Pochote in private rooms.
Option 2 - $ 390 per week if staying at shared room at Pochote.
Option 3 - $ 295 per week if staying with a campesino family.

5. Accommodation, School Excursions and Transportation

Accommodation can be of three types: with local families, at the school house or at private rooms in the hotel. The arrangement is on weekly basis.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATION IN GRANADA, AT THE SCHOOL’S PARTNER HOTEL
Take advantage of this promotional price (the hotel is right on the lake shores).

Price: $155 per person per week: 3 main meals daily + private room with private bath + ventilator. There are individual and double rooms available (see pictures here). Need to reserve 8 weeks before arrival.

Price: $195 per person per week, 3 main meals + air-conditioning private room with private bath. There are individual and double rooms available (see pictures here).Need to reserve 8 weeks before arrival.

INDEPENDENT CABINS IN MASATEPE
At the farm there are independent cabins available, both for individuals or for couples, the price is the same.

Price: $185 per person per week, 3 main meals included nice room. Both individual and double rooms with good ventilation are available (see pictures here).

STAYING WITH A FAMILY OR AT THE SCHOOL HOUSE
The school will accommodate you with local affiliated families. The arrangement is on weekly basis. There is no problem at all in extending homestay before or after the language program. The school principle will help with homestay extension.

HOMESTAY (STANDARD): family in the city downtown of Granada, Esteli, Leon, Juigalpa, San Juan del Sur.
Price: $85 per week per person, 3 main meals daily, if you decide to stay with a family, in the central area of the indicated cities. These families have done a wonderful job providing privacy, cleanness and comfort. This type of homestay represents our standard family type accommodations for room & board for one week.

STAYING AT THE SCHOOL HOUSE (PRIVATE ROOMS)

IN GRANADA, there are private rooms available at the school house, maximum 2 people per room, for example, a couple.
Price: $85 per person, per week, 3 main meals daily, if you decide to stay

IN MASATEPE, at the farm there are 2 large cabins available, maximum 6 people per room.

School excursions:

The school has some excursions and the some cultural events are attended by the school staff and the student as part of the program. The prices range goes from $5 (museums) to $30 (visit to the two-volcano Island Ometepe) per person depending on the type of activity. Check the price table at the school.

6. Notice

Price changes will not affect reservations made 2 weeks before the intended first day of class. Reservation helps us to better organize the program that will suffice students learning needs. As a way to show appreciation, we give 5% or 10% discounts, depending on the type of program, to students booking through us or through our official collaborators (see the contact section).

7. Partial payment (deposit)

There is a $50 deposit to reserve your place. The amount is fully applicable towards your total school fee. Reserve with at least 2 weeks in advance and win 5% discount on “Spanish lessons in Granada” and 10% discounts on “Expanded” or “Recorrido” Immersion Program.

8. About our fees

Our fees are calculated to enable us to fairly compensate our employees and suppliers and are extremely competitive. For your greater convenience, we have all-inclusive packages that consist of printed materials, your chosen learning method, your chosen amount of hours of class per week, and housing with a local family for 6 nights and all 3 meals.

Our refund and cancellation policies are flexible and fair. Students, who have completed their payment, are entitled full reimbursement of non-initiated weeks minus the reservation deposit.
